  To enable this option so that it is always checked, use the following steps to edit the registry:  
| 1. | Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). | 
| 2. | Locate and select the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon | 
| 3. | From the Edit menu, click Add Value, and type the following information: Value Name: RasForce Data Type: REG_SZ Value: 1  | 
| • | The remote network becomes available. | 
| • | You use the Emergency Repair Disk (ERD). | 
| • | You use another computer to edit the registry remotely and change the RasForce value from 1 to 0, which turns off the Log on using dial-up connection option. |
